Jewry Wall Museum news of opening
We are delighted to share the news of the opening of the Jewry Wall Museum in Leicester.
This project has been a long but worthwhile journey, navigating the twists and turns of the many heritage challenges, to rejuvenate a significant Grade 2 listed 20th Century building in the setting of the Grade 1 listed Jewry Wall and within a Scheduled Ancient Monument, Leicester’s roman Bathhouse. Designed by Sir Trevor Dannatt with Ove Arup we acknowledge the vision of Sir Peter Soulsby, Leicester City Mayor, and the whole team at Leicester City Council, who made the decision to buy the historic Vaughan College which formed the upper sections of this fabulous building from the University of Leicester, making possible the reimagining and expansion of the Jewry Wall Museum for the 21st Century.
