Planning permission granted in Oadby
We’ve received planning permission for our new build family home in a conservation area just outside Leicester.
Our proposals make the most of the site’s natural slope, with principal living rooms capitalising on a wonderful south-westerly aspect, and a double-height entrance hallway that has views through the house and down the length of the garden to mature trees beyond.
Two wings form an enclosure to a courtyard at the centre of the garden, with predominantly glazed elevations blurring the boundary between inside and out. Green roofs on the lower ground floors will blend into the garden and surrounding landscape when viewed from the upper level.
Materials and detailing will elevate the five-bedroom house, providing a crisp, contemporary aesthetic influenced by mid-century Scandinavian precedents.
