Work underway at Mount Batten
We’re working on conserving and repairing Plymouth’s Mount Batten Tower – a 30-foot high artillery fort on the waterfront, built in 1652. The area has had historic value going as far back as the Bronze Age, when it was a primary route of entry for traders with Britain.
The tower is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and is currently on the Heritage at Risk Register. We’re in the first phase of our work, making water ingress repairs.
